AASAN Award in 2025

Mr.M.Elangeswaran Managing Director and Selvi. K. Malathi, Trustee of Thaimai Anbu Karangal, was honoured with the prestigious “AASAN Award” for Special Educators with over 15 years of service in the field of special education. The award was presented on 15th October 2025 at Chennai by Dr. Edward Fenech, Rotary – La Vallette, Melta. This recognition acknowledges their long-standing dedication, professional excellence, and significant contribution to the education, rehabilitation, and empowerment of children with special needs.

Best Institution Award

TAK Trustee was honoured with the “Best Institution Award in the Special Education Field” on 3rd December 2020, during the World Disabled Day Celebration in Salem. The award was presented by Shri Raman, I.A.S., Honourable District Collector of Salem, in recognition of TAK's exceptional dedication, commitment, & contributions to the education and rehabilitation of children with special needs. This prestigious recognition highlights TAK tireless efforts in promoting inclusive education, empowering special children, & positively impacting their holistic development and well-being.

GEM of India Award 2013

Mr. M. Elangeswaran, Managing Director of Thaimai Anbu Karangal (TAK), was honored with the prestigious GEM of India Award 2013 at New Delhi by the All India Achievers Conference (AIAC) in recognition of his outstanding contributions to social causes. The award acknowledges his dedicated service to the empowerment, education, and rehabilitation of persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities. His commitment, leadership, and long-standing efforts have significantly improved the lives of special children and their families.

Thaimai Anbu Karangal NGO was honored in 2020 by the Salem District Collector, Shri Raman, IAS, in recognition of its dedicated services toward the rehabilitation and welfare of intellectually disabled children. The award acknowledged the organization’s sustained commitment to inclusive care, social empowerment, and community-based rehabilitation initiatives. Through its focused efforts, the NGO has made a meaningful impact in improving the quality of life and opportunities for children with intellectual disabilities.

Women Excellency Award

Selvi. K. Malathi, Principal of Thaimai Anbu Karangal, was honored with the Women Excellency Award in 2018 by the Academy of Universal Global Peace, USA. The award recognized her exemplary leadership, unwavering commitment to social service, and significant contributions to the rehabilitation and empowerment of intellectually disabled children. This international recognition highlights her dedication to inclusive education, humanitarian values, and women’s leadership, reflecting her impactful role in advancing social welfare and community development initiatives.

 Performance Award 2023

Thaimai Anbu Karangal Mentally Challenged Children Home proudly received the Best Performer Award on World Disability Day 2023 for its dedicated service to children with special needs. The award recognized Best Social Service and Best Sports Activities. Our Managing Trustee, Mr. M. Elangeswaran, and Principal, Miss K. Malathi, received the honor, reflecting our team’s continuous efforts in empowering children through care, education, and inclusion.
